Major browsers fail at password protection

A study has been conducted by Chapin Information Services, that demonstrates that current major Web browsers are very week regarding the protection of stored user passwords. The study features the statistics of a suite of 21 tests/features, some of them being failed by all browsers: Opera 9.62, Firefox 3.0.4, Internet Explorer 7.0, Safari 3.2, and Google Chrome 1.0.

According to the study, the weakest browser regarding password protection is Chrome, but Safari is close. The best are Opera and Firefox, but do trust them too much: they pass 7 over 21 tests!

OK, the tests themselves can be argued, but in general, do not trust this browsers functionality. Overall, "user friendly security" looks very close to an oximoron!
