Firefox 3.1 beta 1 vs. Google's Chrome

Competition is a good thing for end users of software. The emergence of the season hit, the Google's Chrome browser, has really challenged and pushed forward Firefox engineers and technologies. In fact, as Adrian Kingsley-Hughes comments in his Zdnet blog, the release of Firefox 3.1 beta 1 is including a number of significant improvements in terms of functionality, and also on efficiency.

Through this post, I have discovered an interesting bunch of efficiency online tests that worth a look: the ACID 3 web standard test, the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark and the V8 JavaScript benchmark.

Firefox beta scores higher than Chrome on the first two. But not all readers consider the comparison fair.
