I want post here two of reports somehow related to spam, which I have known about recently. They are the following ones:
- Sophos Security Threat Report, Q1 2008- this reports deals with many kinds of IT security threats. Concerning spam, it claims that "92.3% of all email was spam during the first quarter of 2008". Spain is now the eleventh spam relayer in the world, with a proud 3.3% of the total spam detected by SophosLabs.
- Senders Best Communications Practices, Version 2.0 by the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group - this report presents which are the best practices that (honest) email marketing corporations should adopt in order to (1) avoid sending spam (unsolicited messages) and (2) getting their legitimate messages pass through spam filters. Regarding the latest issue, they are recommending server signatures: Sender Policy Framework, and Domain Keys. Nice!
Just enjoy them :-)
